Lisha Kill!

Today I went to something called the Lisha

Kill Nature Preserve in the morning. I had

no idea where we were going or what we'd

be killing but I was intrigued. Bristol

was really excited and assured me that

we'd have a great time. So this morning

after breakfast we jumped in the car

and off we went. I cried the whole

way - not from grief or terror, but

from sheer joy! We hiked and even

waded into the stream. I was a

very good boy at the preserve.

I rode the whole way home sitting

right next to Bristol, we kept

the tips of our noses out the

window. We came home and had a

foot and sponge bath and a thorough

tick check. We had treats and now

I am going to curl up for a nap.

So what did you do for fun today?

Getting ready for Santa Paws

Big Bitch was on her hands and knees picking up my toys and she declared, “Cocoa, you will not get any new toys this year from Santa Paws unless you get rid of some of these ratty, disgusting old things. There are probably dogs somewhere that do not have any toys, and here you are with an overflowing basket!”

Anybody want a squawking hedgehog with his ear chewed off? How about a woobie with extra-crusty fur?

I think there may be a new Kong in my future…

Going out – no, not that!

Well, I guess going out means different things, depending on one’s perspective. When Big Bitch asks me if I want to go out, it’s to the dog patch of historic smells. But when she goes out, it is usually not to pee on a tree.

She told me that we are all GOING OUT tonight, and that Bristol will be there. My, it’s a wonderful day!

Dog Heaven

I was having one of those theological discussions with Big Bitch the other day. We got past the one about doG spelled backwards is God and she was arguing about what name one actually used for God and what language one spoke and how it wouldn’t necessarily always be that way, with dogs having such a “lofty” place and then our discussion moved to doG heaven. (Capitalizing the G was my idea, to give it more emphasis…) ANyway, Big Bitch said it was certainly possible, she supposed, for there to be a doG heaven. So she asked me what I thought it was like and I said, for sure, it’s got to smell like Kinns Road Park. She thought that was probably true, since Sam really liked Kinns Road Park too.

This picture is from June, when Duncan came to stay with me and Big Bitch put us on the double leash and took us to Kinns Road Park almost every day. Now that WAS heaven! I am always happy to have another dog to share the double leash, and the priviledge of trying to pull Big Bitch up that monster hill.
